About Santa Monica Science Magnet

The Santa Monica Science Manget program is a two year program designed for students who demonstrate a lot of interest in the sciences. This unique program offers extra curricular activities to 7th and 8th graders in the program. Some activities are required (summer institute, projects, and seminars) while other activities are optional (extended trips, family camp trips, academic teams, and Japanese Exchange); all designed to enhance the student's science experience. For more information about the various opportunites available please browse throug the website using the navigation buttons on the left hand side as well as the links below.

An important compoenent to being involved in the SM science magnet program is fundraising. SMSM is a non-profit organization funded each year partially by Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District and partially by fundraisers/donations. This program would not be what it is today without dedicated parents and community members. There are many ways to help this program continue to flourish; donations (monetary and supplies), participating in fundraiser events, chaperoning trips, teaching a seminar, etc. Join our volunteer mailing list to get updates on how you can support the program All email addresses are kept confidential.
